Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan
Nested at the edge of Ranthambore National Park — home to India's most celebrated Bengal tigers — Padmavat is an earthy, intimate retreat where the forest arrives at your doorstep.
Ranthambore — where forest and history meet
About Padmavat
Padmavat takes its name from Mata Padmavat — revered as a deity in both Hindu and Jain traditions, worshipped across Rajasthan as a protector of the earth, of family, and of all living beings. It felt like the only name worthy of a place that sits at the threshold of India's greatest wilderness.
Set at the edge of Ranthambore National Park, our cottages and rooms dissolve the line between the indoors and the ancient forest beyond. Every corner has been built with local stone, reclaimed wood, and indigenous craft — because real luxury knows exactly where it stands.
Our Story
Yogesh first came to Sawai Madhopur in search of land, quiet mornings, and a life lived closer to the soil. After years in Delhi, the pull of Ranthambore felt less like escape and more like arrival. Padmavat grows from that instinct: a retreat shaped by local craft, patient hospitality, and deep respect for the forest that surrounds it.
Deepak brought to Padmavat the perspective of a long friendship and a shared belief that rare places deserve careful hands. What began as conversations between two friends became a promise to build something intimate, enduring, and unmistakably rooted in Rajasthan: a stay that feels generous without ever losing its sense of place.
"Padmavat was never imagined as just another resort. It is our tribute to Sawai Madhopur: to its stillness, its wilderness, its craft, and the quiet dignity of the people who call it home."
- Yogesh Jain & Deepak Manchanda, Founders

Life at Padmavat
01
Dawn over Ranthambore as your jeep rolls into the reserve. Our naturalists know every tiger by name, marking, and territory. No two mornings in this jungle are alike.
02
A 10th-century fortress perched atop a 700-foot hill inside the tiger reserve — a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our guided walks weave history with landscape.
03
Walk the bazaars of Sawai Madhopur — its copper vessels, bandhani textiles, khas-khas vendors, and jalebi-wallahs. This is the real, generous Rajasthan.
04
Far from city light, the sky above Ranthambore is another wilderness entirely. Rooftop sessions with a telescope and a storyteller will change how you see the night.
05
Learn the alchemy behind Dal Baati Churma and Gatte ki Sabzi. Recipes passed across generations, spices ground fresh each morning, fire-cooked in traditional clay vessels.
06
Forest-edge yoga at 6 AM, guided by birdsong and first light. Followed by an Ayurvedic herbal steam in our traditional hammam. The body remembers what the mind forgets.
The Table
Our 100% vegetarian kitchen is a shrine to Rajasthani flavour — slow-cooked, fire-kissed, and grown where possible in our own kitchen garden. Every meal is an event: from courtyard breakfasts to candlelit dinners under an open sky.

Guest Stories
We spotted a tiger on our very first safari. But what surprised us more was how Padmavat felt — like someone had carefully placed the forest inside a home. The cottage was beyond anything we'd imagined.
— Arjun & Meera, Mumbai
As vegetarians, we're always nervous about food on trips. Here, the meals were the highlight of the entire stay. The Dal Baati Churma and Ker Sangri were revelations. Real Rajasthani soul in every bite.
— Elena Markova, Moscow
I've stayed in luxury hotels across India. Padmavat is different — it has that rare quality of being both minimal and deeply rich. Everything has a story. The staff knew our names before we finished checking in.
— James Thornton, London
